The Bredon Hill Bash, a special Twenty20 competition for local village cricket teams, starts next Sunday (August 6) with two matches.
Bredon will host Overbury at Hill Close while Ashton-under-Hill are at home to the Crown Inn, Kemerton.
Both games start at 2.30pm, and are sure to provide some excellent entertainment for spectators.
The bar at Bredon Cricket Club will be open and members and non-members alike are welcome to come along and enjoy what promises to be an exhilarating afternoon of cricket.
Teams from Bredon, Overbury, Ashton cricket clubs, and the Crown will play each other over the four Sundays of August 2017.
The competition culminates in a finals day at Hill Close on Sunday, August 27, at which the first and second placed teams, and the third and fourth, will play to decide the placings.
A local cricket fan is sponsoring a top-quality trophy for the winners.
The finals, in particular, will be a fun day for all the family. Local musical duo The Brethryn will be performing, and there will be a barbecue.
The competition is being organised by Jake Denton, landlord of the Crown, who is an occasional Bredon Cricket Club player.
Jake’s fond memories of his own cricketing experiences around Bredon Hill inspired him to organise the competition.
