Bredon Third XI hosted Evesham Third XI on Saturday at Birlingham.
Evesham batted first and struggled, ending on 163 for 8 with a great opening spell from Luke Plane taking three wickets and only conceding 12 runs.
Joe Hunt backed him up with a very tight spell of off spin, taking one wicket.
Tolly Wilson bowled beautifully with pace and control, ending up with a wicket.
Cole Notley tempted Evesham batters into going big with his flight, bowling a great line and length which paid off.
Cole ended up with two wickets. He scooped up one off his bowling and took a catch in the covers that had been driven at pace.
An amazing performance in the field by all juniors working really hard. Very impressive.
Bredon batted after tea in a confident position, with Sean Styles and Oliver Washbourne opening up.
Oliver had a lovely couple of off-drives, beating the field and looking in good shape.
Sean played the senior role of staying in and controlling the game, supporting the junior players so they could gain match experience.
Luke Plane was in top form with three beautifully dispatched cover drives for four, playing the ball very late with such timing. He ended up on 31 before being despatched.
Sean reached his 50 and the game was in the bag. He ended up 73 not out. A great knock, steering the team to another win and taking us to second position in the league.
A super all-round performance by all, especially the juniors. Well done!
