Don’t forget that we have an evening of live music at Bredon Cricket Club on Saturday night (May 21).

Local singer James Caveny will be performing.

His music appeals to a broad range of people, and he has a large local following.

Our bar, under the stewardship of Will Rollett, will be open from 7pm and boasts some of the most competitive drinks prices in the area.

Admission is free and non-members are welcome. See you there!

Take a look at our beautifully restored floor!

parquet flooring
Isn’t it lovely? We’re so proud of our revamped parquet floor

Now this may seem like an ordinary floor to you, but we are enormously proud of it!

The parquet was rescued from an old church hall several years ago and fitted in our Hill Close clubhouse.

But it had taken a bit of a battering and was looking worse for wear.

A top-notch restoration has it looking magnificent again, as this picture shows.

It is just another step in a programme to dramatically improve the clubhouse.

Decorating is under way, a new kitchen is coming, and there are even grander things in the pipeline.

For now, though, we’re all just enjoying staring at the floor. Who says cricket folk are boring?

What happens when the ground, weather or light aren’t right?

Are you puzzled about what happens when bad light, weather or ground conditions affect games?

The ECB Association of Cricket Officials (ACO) had issued some guidance to help everyone involved in the game understand how decisions are made.

Who’s our club’s volunteer of the year 2016?

Who is Bredon Cricket Club’s volunteer of the year? Now is your chance to put them forward for the praise they deserve.

The nomination process for this year’s Bill Jones Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award/Natwest OSCAs (outstanding service to cricket awards) is now open.

Worcestershire Cricket launched the award in memory of one of recreational cricket’s most loyal and hardworking volunteers, Bill (WF) Jones.

The award offers an opportunity for clubs like ours to recognise hard-working volunteers who you feel have made a difference either during the year, or over time.

There are seven different categories you can choose from to nominate. They are:

  • Heartbeat of the Club
  • Get the game on
  • Leagues
  • Lifetime achiever
  • NatWest CricketForce
  • Officiating – impires and scorers
  • Young volunteer

Nominations are not limited to one individual/group per category.

Following the cut-off date for nominations, Friday, July 1, a panel will sit to select the winners in each category.

All nominated individuals will be invited to an awards lunch on Tuesday, August 23, at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

The club committee will put forward our official nomination, but we would like to hear your views about who deserves an accolade.

There is more information on what the judges are looking for here.

They’re back! Those fabulous summer evenings when your children get to learn one of the world’s greatest sports, while you look on… perhaps with a refreshing drink in your hand.

Junior coaching begins at Bredon Cricket Club (find us here) on Friday (April 29) at 6.15pm.

Children are taught basic skills such as catching, throwing, bowling and batting in a friendly, supportive environment. They learn in groups of not more than 20 based on age and ability.

Parents can enjoy a relaxing drink from our clubhouse bar and unwind after a hard week in one of the most beautiful spots in Bredon.

Our junior cricket FAQs page has lots more information, and you can download a registration form and complete it all ready to hand in at the club on Friday.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back!
