Bredon beat Overbury by seven runs in the opening game of the Bredon Hill Bash 2017.
There was a gripping finish to the 20-over derby clash today, with Overbury’s batsmen closing in on the 185 target set by the home side.
The match ended with Bredon 184 for 7 against Overbury’s 177 for 7.
Bredon’s next game in the tournment is against the Crown Inn, Kemerton, and it will be played at Hill Close on Wednesday, August 16. The match starts at 6pm and the clubhouse bar will be open. Spectators welcome. See fixtures list below.
The competition culminates in a finals day at Hill Close on Sunday, August 27, at which the mini-league’s first and second placed teams, and the third and fourth, will meet to decide the ultimate placings. Play starts at noon.
A local cricket fan is sponsoring a top-quality trophy for the winners.
